It is a pathetic irony that progressive America, freest of nations and leader of the free world, cannot provide safe streets and safe neighborhoods for our citizens. For decades, the once great U.S. has been on a morality spiral downward.

Since the permissive 60's, we've been adapting to a veritable sociological revolution. In the name of "civil liberties" and "civil rights", the ultra liberal American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and supportive groups have advocated the principle of maximum freedom and minimum responsibility. The result: Traditional Judeo-Christian morality and Western values have been undermined as never before. We've seen this once proud nation reduced to one of uncontrolled criminal violence, civil disorders, gang wars, and a drug fed morality crisis that knows no solution. Add to this an ongoing invasion by impoverished "Third World" illegal aliens, record broken homes, single parents unable to supervise and discipline, teen promiscuity (once regarded as statutory rape), the proliferation of unwed welfare mothers, crack babies, the AIDS crisis and our acceptance of perversions of every variety.

Our Technological Marvels, Sociological Decline:

The US has led the world in space exploration, the computer revolution, and amazing innovations in transportation, medical science, commerce, etc. How is it that such great "problem solvers" are unable to cope with today's sociological/demographic morality "revolution"? Some call it America's slide into the sewer. We've seen the evolution of X-rated entertainment by an industry that gives the public what it claims we want - more violence and vulgarity on our "public airwaves" and in our movies. We've come to accept tax supported pornographic "art" and even obscene "rap music" inciting blacks to revolt and kill. The ACLU, the liberal media, Time-Warner Inc. and even our courts regard such treasonous proposals as, "free speech"! "The nation seemed helpless and drifting under the leadership of Clinton, an immoral and deceitful president whose administration was characterized by bureaucratic corruption and partisan conflict. Though his impeachment did not remove him from office, one of his last outrageous acts was to grant undeserved "political" pardons to several felons convicted of drug trafficking, fraud and other serious crimes. The 1993 Islamic terrorist bombing of New York's World Trade Center and numerous other terrorist atrocities such as the Destroyer Cole disaster and American embassy bombings failed to elicit a significant or appropriate response from Clinton. This former "draft dodger" president not only failed to maintain our military at satisfactory levels, he was a disaster on the international scene and blind to the menace of Islam. Examples:

For centuries Kosovo was Christian Serbian territory until legal and illegal immigration over the years resulted in a 90% "occupation" by aggressive Islamic Albanians. Yet Clinton condemned the Serbs (our allies in WWII) for "ethnic cleansing" of the Albanian Muslims, and had the Serbs bombed into submission.

More than anything else, Clinton attempted to achieve his legacy via the "Oslo Peace Accord" between PLO terrorist Arafat and Prime Minister Rabin of Israel. Israel liberated the biblical territories of "Samaria and Judea" in the "6 day war" of 1967 after 19 years of brutal Jordanian occupation. After 54 years of Arab wars (hot and cold), Arab terrorism, and insurrection and 54 years of futile attempts by Israel to coexist with its Islamic/Arab enemies, Israel finally understands the ultimate objectives of its Arab enemies: To wipe the tiny, permissive democracy off the map.

Secretary of State Colin Powell under Pres. G. W. Bush had attempted to restrain Israel in its counter-terrorism efforts even after the Sept.11, 2001 World Trade Center disaster with the loss of 3000 Americans. His actions were similar in the Gulf War. Under Pres. Bush Sr., General Powell stopped the total defeat of Saddam Hussein in order to pacify our "Arab allies". G.W. Bush initially supported Powell's Mideast efforts, believing Arafat was credible as a peace partner with Israel. After "9/11" and our ongoing war in Afghanistan, and following months of Palestinian Arab suicidal slaughter of innocent Israelis, Pres. Bush finally saw Arafat as condoning Arab terrorism and seeks an Arab moderate to replace him. In the name of freedom, We've succumbed to a pervasive permissiveness and ever declining morality, where "anything goes", and to hell with traditional values. We've resigned ourselves to ongoing primitive behavior and moral degradation, exacerbated by a demographic crisis resulting from uncontrolled "Third World" immigration. Thoughtless, careless and irresponsible persons, perpetuate their cycle of poverty, by children they don't want or can't afford. At the same time, there's been a growing intolerance for restrictions necessary for maintaining reasonable community standards. To wit: Intimidated teachers unable to discipline, and school boards contributing to the delinquency of minors and statutory rape, by approving of condom distribution to students and the proliferation of "adult entertainment" even on the Internet.

Founder:

Dr. Howard Garber, a retired eye doctor and "Berkeley conservative", began speaking and writing about America's permissive affliction in the 50's. A first generation American whose parents escaped Czarist tyranny of the early 1900s by migrating to the United States, he retired from health care, obtained a criminal law background, and became a political activist and victims rights advocate. In 1980 he established Citizens ACT (Anti crime Task force) and joined with Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas and others as So Calif Chairman of the effort to recall Chief Justice Rose Bird of the CA Supreme Court. She'd reversed 61 of 61 death penalty cases. Dr. Garber charged the court with judicial obstruction of justice and judicial legislation. His ACT organization ultimately expanded its scope, and in early 1990 became ACRU, Inc. In the 90's he hosted a conservative radio talk show at the Univ. of Calif. at Irvine (KUCI) and went on to establish the ACRU Report on Century Cable TV in Orange County, CA.

Dr. Garber has been on such nationally broadcast programs as: "Crossfire", "The Larry King Show", "Good Morning America", "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "The Today Show". He was a "regular" on Fox TV's, "News Talk Television" As a conservative, he has debated "the issues" with numerous "liberals" and "libertarians" on radio and TV over the years.

ACRU Objectives:

The ACRU was established to help achieve a better balance between civil liberties and civil responsibilities. We favor the return of traditional morality and reasonable community standards. In criminal justice, where the "pro-defendant" ACLU promotes criminal rights, we support victims rights, overhauling of our antiquated criminal justice system, and insuring safe streets and safe neighborhoods for our citizens. We've been active in our support for capital punishment, and have challenged ACLU's "misplaced compassion" here. (It's limited implementation has been tokenism.) We oppose the exclusionary rule and favor changing certain archaic English Common Law principles and outmoded concepts. No one constitutional right is absolute, as each must be weighed against other rights. We are critical of such permissive agencies as the FCC for not properly restricting the public airwaves to obscenity and pornography, and the INS for not controlling/protecting our borders. We favor a strict policy against questionable and illegal gun sales, and the sale of guns to ex-felons and incompetents. We are "pro-choice", opposing irresponsible reproduction by welfare recipients and minors. (All pregnant 13 year olds are victims of statutory rape, and we call for the prosecution of their rapists.) Lastly, we are pro-morality and conservative in terms of reasonable community standards and traditional values. Our detailed positions on a variety of contemporary issues will be available on this ACRU website, and it is our hope that you and your friends will support our important cause. Remember, unrestricted freedom is really license to disrupt and destroy our once orderly and progressive society. The tragic picture of America's ongoing permissive amoral descent as described here, is the result of our tolerating the intolerable. We welcome your support and your views.

Coalition Formation

The ACRU favors coalition formation, and supports a number of organizations organized and dedicated to fighting America's permissive sociological decline. We do not accept the statement that morality cannot or should not be legislated. Were that the case, it would be impossible to maintain moral and ethical behavioral standards, essential in a truly progressive, civilized society. How else can we deal with America's serious sociological problems of increasing crime, violence, drugs, gang warfare, teen promiscuity, obscenity, pornography, lewd conduct, unacceptable perversions, illegal immigration, "domestic terrorism", etc.? How else but through the force of effective and implemented legislation can we make problem citizens act responsibly in such areas? Further, ACRU has been especially concerned regarding escalating criminal violence and public safety. We view "white collar crime" and criminal violence as very different concerns, for it is the latter that has intimidated and endangered the citizens of this once safe nation. We pay special attention to our inefficient and often "legislating" courts. The ACRU cites the reversal of 61of 61 death penalty cases by a California chief justice as, "judicial obstruction of justice", and the more recent judicial blocking of California's popular Prop 187 and 209 initiatives as "judicial legislation". We oppose what some term, "judicial activism", and have called for an overhaul of our justice system. We cite the political extremes of Totalitarianism and Anarchy as being equally and inherently dangerous, and that we must be militant and eternally vigilant to prevent our slide in either direction. We must resist intimidation by minority extremists i.e., the "burn-baby-burn" crowd, and work together to restore Judeo-Christian values and virtues. If not, we shall all assume the ultimate consequences.
